HISTORY OF MOGUL BRAHMAN STUD (written in 2000)
Mogul Stud was established at Riverstone, near Sydney in 1959 and was subsequently relocated at several sites near Sydney. Foundation cattle were purchased from "Cherokee" with subsequent purchases from "Grampians" and "Tyagarah".
The stud moved to "Clarence Peak" near Maclean, NSW in 1980, a property in the same ownership as Mogul since 1967 and where commercial Brahman breeding was the main enterprise.
Mogul is known for innovation and is NSW's longest established Brahman stud.

Since Mogul exhibited the first NSW-bred brahmans at Sydney Royal Easter Show in 1964, it has won 81 Royal Show Championships at Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Toowoomba Shows, including over 50 at Sydney. |
| Mogul has exported Brahmans to New Zealand, South Korea and New Caledonia. | |
| Mogul imported the first new Brahman bloodlines to Australia in 20 years in 1975: an Indu-Gyr bull Sir Mogul Arauto C whose impact all around Australia has been enormous and a grey bull Mr V8 1/2. | |
| In 1981 Mogul carried out the first Brahman embryo transplant program in Australia and the subsequent bull progeny of one flush to Sir Mogul Arauto C sold for an average of $10,000 (5 bulls). | |
| Mogul holds the saleyard records for Australian-bred bulls and females of any breed at Grafton Saleyards. These were cattle sold at our Annual Production Sales. | |
| Mogul Brahmans have been sold to all mainland states (including the Kimberleys in Western Australia) and the Northern Territory and progeny of these cattle have been sold at major sales for high prices (top $19,500 for Bundoona Mac) and won championships at Royal and major shows. | |
| Performance testing has been carried out for a number of years and results have been tabulated on Brahman Group Breedplan for the last fourteen years. | |
| Our 200-day, 400-day and 600-day EBVs regularly exceed the Brahman Group Breedplan national averages. |
